MT. SAVAGE EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY
If anyone knows any Mt. Savage residents in need of short term assistance with food,
please call any of the ministers at the three churches in Mt. Savage, and give them the names.
Also, if anyone would like to donate, any non-perishable food items, or cash donations,
please take them to the churches.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH FROM 10 AM TO 4 PM AT MOSS COTTAGE THERE WILL BE A COMMUNITY RALLY DAY. THIS DAY WILL INCLUDE MUSIC, CAKEWALK, KIDDIE GOLF (AGES 2-6), TWO OLD CARS TO LOOK AT (MAYBE MORE) PUPPET SHOWS, A SPECIAL GUESS WHAT IS BAKED IN A CAKE AND WIN THAT CAKE.
DUNKING BOOTH, VFW PROGRAM TO HONOR OUR WAR DEAD AND THOSE WHO PASSED AWAY IN THE 9/11 ATTACK, AND MANY OTHER ACTIVITIES. FREE - THIS IS NOT A MONEY RAISING PROJECT. ALTHOUGH A FEW ACTIVITIES MAY REQUIRE A TICKET, THE PRICE WILL BE LOW - LIKE 20 OR 25 CENTS. THERE WILL ALSO BE ACTIVITES AT ST. GEORGE'S WHO ARE SPONSORING A HEALTH AND WELLNESS DAY. PLEASE SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY CHURCH ACTIVITIES.
 

September 18, 19 - Iron Rail Days Festival

Festival hours are 10 am to 5 pm both days and will be held at the Mount Savage Community Park. 

Iron Rail Days activities include:
5K & 1 mile run/walk Saturday at 8 am,  
Vietnam Veterans opening ceremonies on Saturday morning 10 am
Live music both afternoons
Crossroad Cloggers perform Saturday at 1:00 pm
Classy Chassis
Pony rides
Kids games
Great food including hand dipped ice cream & strawberry shortcake
Antique tractor display
Silent Auction in the Community Depot
Bake-Off on Sunday afternoon
Old Fashioned Cake Walk, Sunday afternoon
Craft Vendors both days
    The historical society will also have their buildings and sites open both afternoons for touring. 
Renovation of the historic Union Mining Company Building is complete and festival-goers are invited to stop by and take a look at this beautiful old building and the displays that are housed there.
